Mark Rohr (March 7, 1959), son of Marvin and Ethel Rohr, was born in the Bronx and later moved to Rockland County, New York. As a young man, school was not something he found easy, due to a learning disability his teachers did not know existed at the time: dyslexia. However, despite the obstacles he had in school, Mark had a unique ability to visualize and create almost anything with his hands and determination.
In 1983, at the age of 24, Mark decided to start his own landscaping and construction company: Rohr Construction. Through hard work and dedication he was able to overcome his learning disability, as he went on to study at different universities and colleges throughout New York State. He currently holds certificates and licenses in over 42 different categories of construction, and has extensive knowledge in structural engineering, “green” building, marine construction, residential construction, historical restoration, building rescue, house jacking, and commercial applications.
